The UAE is exploring investment opportunities in Syria

With the participation of a delegation of Syrian businessmen from various economic and commercial sectors, the Syrian-UAE Private Sector Forum was held in Abu Dhabi

The participants discussed a number of topics including industry, trade exchange, exports, exhibitions, agriculture, real estate, urban development, tourism and alternative energy

 

The Chairman of the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mohammad Thani Al-Rumaithi, said that the forum comes within the framework of developing the positive relationship between the private sectors in Syria and the UAE to establish joint investments

 

For his part, the head of the delegation of Syrian businessmen, Secretary General of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce, Mohammed Hamsho, stressed the importance of such meetings to re-activate and open new horizons for cooperation in the field of investment and trade and creating partnerships that contribute to economic development, pointing out that Syria after its recovery from terrorism provides a stable investment environment For his part, President of Damascus Chamber of Industry and Rural Samer Aldbs that the forum for the beginning of greater cooperation and the creation of investment opportunities benefiting the two sides, calling on the Emirati businessmen to invest in the industrial sector through joint stock companies to establish large projects “such as cement and rapid construction and iron and petrochemical plants and oil services” The head of Damascus Rural Chamber of Commerce Waseem Al-Qattan referred to the facilities provided for tourism investments and the measures taken to expand the base of incentives, in addition to the diversity of tourist places in Syria and work to stimulate the tourism sector through an integrated strategy on the axis of real estate and urban development, the Executive Director of Al-Sham Holding Company Nasouh Nabulsi spoke about the real estate development areas in addition to reviewing the modern building models that will be adopted to implement these areas

 

In a press statement, the President of the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry thanked the Syrian delegation for the invitation and hoped that the forum would be a step towards further prosperity for the private sector in both countries.and said:”Our goal is to develop the relationship between the two sectors after we know the investment opportunities and we hope to be soon in Syria”

Mohammed Hilal Al Muhairi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry considered the meeting as the beginning of meetings to identify investment opportunities in many sectors in Syria, pointing out that these opportunities will be studied and research with the Syrian side to reach projects of interest to businessmen in both countries.
